GSRAW has no shelter and operates utilizing a phone, post office box, e-mail and internet networking systems. All dogs are homed with foster parents. Occasionally boarding kennels are options used to save an animal’s life. Collectively our members have many years of experience in evaluating temperaments, fostering, placing and training German Shepherd Dogs.

GSRAW has always tried, to the best of our ability, to rescue and treat more than our share of medically challenged dogs. So far this year, we have funded 8 heartworm treatments, hip surgery, ACL surgery, extensive mange treatments, several cases of giardia and taken on 4 EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficienty) cases,,, and pulled a very sick dog from a shelter who spent 8 days in the ER and died of pneumonia (bill was over$3,000).
