Sammi
Sammi was adopted in February 2012. Here’s a note sent by Sammi’s new family.
Hello, We are the proud owners of Sammi, a rescue german shepherd. Sammi has been with us a little over one month and her adjustment along with ours is going very well. Sammi, as many rescue dogs, has some seperation issues. We worked with Laura, Sammis’ foster mom and followed her very good suggestions. Sammi still gets a little nervous and whinny when we leave but there is no destruction upon our return. She is a real lady and has filled a pretty big hole left by the untimely death of our former dog Winston.
As for her adjustment, she has a morning doggie play date with 3 of the neighbor dogs. They run in our little neighborhood park and everyone gets along just fine. There are a couple of neighbors who see a german shepherd and are frightened but Sammis’ gentle nature and good manners are slowly winning them over. I love taking her for a walk. She heels beautifully and I enjoy not being dragged down the street. Sammi likes playing ball with my husband and teasing him occasionally before returning the ball. I’m not sure which one enjoys the game more. Finally I can not say enough good about all of you and the great work done to find homes for these dogs. We are thankful for your efforts and are pleased to be on the recieving end of them. Best wishes, Gary,Jane and Sammi
